Root Android Gingerbread 2.3.3-2.3.6.
Complete step by step Video tutorial in English

You can Root your Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830, GT-S5830C, GT-S5830D, GT-S5830i, GT-S5830M, GT-S5830v (Android Gingerbread 2.3.3-2.3.6) over Internet or Wi-Fi

1) Download the file and save it to your phone's SD card.
Select the right file to your phone model:
S5830 ONLY! → root_S5830.zip (bit.ly/Ye6w8u)
If you have another model try this links (untested!):
S5830i/D/v → Universal_GB_ROOT_v9.zip (bit.ly/12DlTpr)
S5830C/i/M → ROOT-S5830C-i-M.zip (bit.ly/15RwLEu)

2) Switch off your phone and reboot into recovery mode (power + home button or power + volume up + home buttons)

3) Select "Update from sdcard" and apply the downloaded file

3) Reboot in normal mode and your should have root access to your Android phone.

Why to root your Android device?
The greatest advantage that rooting provides is the ability to install powerful applications that require more-than-usual privileges to your device. Ability To Flash Custom ROMs. To Unlock your phone from your carrier and use it freely in any network. And many more.

    1. I looked in forums and people say that S5830V is similar to S5830i, so try Universal_GB_ROOT_v9.zip and please let me know if it worked for you.

  8. Hi, I don´t get the "update from sdcard" option, only "apply sdcard:update.zip" and when I select it, is says "E: can´t open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory" but I named your file "update.zip" and it still doesn´t work. Installation aborted. Any thought on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks for all your help on this. Regards

I have the Galaxy Ace S5830 2.3.6 and i have done 2 roots so far and but didn't work. After the first one i got a SuperSU app and a Rootvalidation app, then I checked if it worked at Link2SD and it said that I didn't had any root access. After that I installed another one called upd_1.zip and it installed another superuser app. Then I used yours and it said: Installation aborted step 7.

I don't know whats the problem.
    And btw,
when I connect my ace to my pc via usb cable it isn't recognized.
I allready tried 2 other pc's and both didn't recognize it either.

    Please help me!

  26. well i got the root to work, i think, installed the file for the S5380D, the untested one, i followed the video exactly, i did not get any errors, thats good, :) ,

the message at the end of the install said "install complete", i rebooted the phone, i still wasn't sure if the root took place so installed an app from the google play store called root checker, i checked, and the app said my phone was rooted.

the one feature i was looking forward to is the ability to move apps from my phone memory to the SD card memory, how do i go about doing that?

    thanks

  42. Hi Den,
Unfortunately the "universal root.zip" is not rooting my Galaxy ACE S5830T. I know its the right one because this model is included in the script. And it says it has successfully installed in the recovery mode, when I reboot and use "root checker" its tells me that the device does not have proper root access???
    Please help :-/

  43. Hi guys,

I'm trying to root Samsung GT-5839i for the simple reason to unlock all the carriers. For the last 10 hours I tried many different methods and I'm relay stuck... and angry. It's a gift I want to make for my 10 years old niece for Christmas... her first phone. I did try all the available one click solutions, copied maybe 15 different .zip files to the sd card for the recovery mode method, I even downloaded android sdk and tried to push some files (droid2root) directly to the file system, tried the Odin method and so on and so on.

So if there is someone who knows how this thing really works, please help...

    Thank you

    d.

  44. I have done everything by the book several times to no avail & getting or or or but no actual codes. Would having SUPERSU instead of Superuser be the problem?, or fact that Galaxy Ace unlock is Beta version???
    Thanks, Nick

  56. For gt s5830T you must save the patch as update.zip in main sd card folder, not in sd card/downloads .
reboot into recovery mode and select update from sd card all went great.
    Thanks heaps.
